Travis Maddox is the lead male character in Beautiful Disaster and Beautiful Wedding. He is portrayed by Dylan Sprouse.
Background[]
Travis is the youngest of five sons, each born to Jim and Diane Maddox. Sadly, Diane died when Travis was three so he never had the chance to know her. The brothers were raised by their father and physically fought enough times that Jim put in a fighting ring so they wouldn't do it near anything valuable. This helped Travis hone his fighting skills, something he used to make money when he was older. He attended Eastern University and got an apartment with his cousin and best friend Shepley. Shep also managed Travis's fights and stood ringside for him. Travis garnered a reputation around campus as the non-committal type and he didn't mind that.
Film Series[]
Beautiful Disaster[]
Travis enters The Circle for a fight. A blonde girl bumps into him and her hand lingers on his body. He removes it and joins the fight. He becomes distracted and his opponent lands a punch. Travis jumps to his feet, warns the fighter that was his one. He knocks out his opponent and gets blood on her sweater, then catches her when the crowd gets rowdy. He apologizes for her sweater, calls her Pigeon, and leaves.
The next day, he meets the girl, Abby, formally when she's hanging out with Travis's cousin Shepley and Shepley's girlfriend America. Abby tries to turn down Travis's flirtations and convince both of them she's not interested, but he catches her Instastalking him in class and invites her out to dinner.
Abby goes out of her way to prove it's not a date, but their budding chemistry and connection is obvious. This only heightens when the water in Abby and Mare's dorm is shut off for 24-hours, forcing them to stay in Shepley's apartment that he shares with Travis. She's less than excited to spend the night at his place but, nonetheless, is determined to pass her college tests and not let Travis distract her. He lets her sleep in his bed, even though he claims it's "sacred ground."
They wake up in the morning and he has an erection. She mistakes it for her cat and her stroking wakes him up. She throws things at Travis and angrily accusing him of needing to be locked up. He argues it's biological and out of his control, which reminds her of a test she's late for.
Beautiful Wedding[]
Abby and Travis wake up after a night of partying with Mare and Shep. No one remembers anything from the night before and are shocked to realize Travis and Abby got married. Travis instantly takes a knee to tell Abby he loves her and, even though they didn't plan this, it's what he wants. He wishes his family were there to see her. She vomits on his face. A call from Benny rattles everyone, so they decide to flee to Mexico courtesy of Buzz. Mare and Shep are forced along when their ride back to the hotel ditches. It serves as both Travis and Abby's honeymoon and an escape from the gangster loan shark who wants his 138k back. She books them a luxury villa in Los Gatitos Mexico. Abby knows Travis freaking out about this too, as he's stuck with her forever. He has reservations like her being beautiful, smart, and making them a fortune in under an hour.
The group lands and are welcomed to the villa by Sancho, the musical and talkative villa concierge. Once alone, Travis calls Abby Mrs. Maddox, but she's not sure she's taking his name because she likes hers. She suggests he take her last name, something he compares to castration. He stops her from crossing the threshold so he can carry her over it. Their romantic first day comes to a halt as neither one packed condoms.
Travis and Abby go for a romantic dinner where she presents him with a pro-con list she made of their marriage. It will help them decide if they should get a quick annulment or not. He isn't happy with the list and only agrees to it because Abby can get Sancho to stop incessantly talking to him. Abby talks about her childhood and dead grandmother, but he's distracted by the sports score. He claims to not feel well but promises to be back. After the third time, Abby follows and finds him celebrating the score with Shep and concocting a plan to feign illness. She remarks that he's lost a lot of points for the ordeal.
In the morning, Abby finds Travis as the newest member of a mariachi band performing outside her room. They play in the ocean, have dinners, go on a boat, learn to salsa by Sancho, go parachuting, then go swimming (and make out) in the pool. Their night is rained in by a storm. The group plays games and lands on charades. Abby does a round and Mare guesses right. Travis didn't know American in Paris was her favorite movie or that she planned to live there. He's asks how he'll pursue criminal justice living in Paris. She doesn't know that, but also didn't know they'd get married after three months. Mare changes the game to Never Have I Ever. Abby gets upset by Travis's answers and goes for a walk.
Travis finds Abby in the pool and tries to talk with her. She thinks they barely know each other despite being married. He doesn't think they'll survive an annulment. If she's worried about Paris then he'll move there. They'll never have a dull moment. She passes on pool sex until he can wear a raincoat.
Physical Appearance[]
Trevor is an attractive young man in his twenties. He has dirty blonde hair and thin blue eyes. He has a muscular yet lean build, is of moderate height, and has several tattoos.
Personality[]
Relationships[]
Abby Maddox[]
Abby met Travis during a pop-up fight at college. The more she got to know him, the more she viewed him as the perfect example of patriarchy, toxic masculinity, and everything wrong with his gender. After being forced to live together for a month, she saw a different side of him and developed feelings for him. They had a bantering relationship until her birthday, when he threw her a surprise party to make up for him ditching her after they hooked up. Travis followed Abby to Vegas and helped her handle her gambling fathers schemes. They got out with $150,000 in poker chips. They celebrated that night and accidentally got married while blackout drunk. They flew to Mexico to escape the mobster hunting his money and faced challenges as newlyweds. One of which was deciding whether or not to stay married. After many trial and tribulations, they realized they loved each other more than anything and had a second wedding at the villa.
